Change Business Address in OSS Indonesia: Company vs Project Location

Change Business Address OSS Indonesia: 2026 Guide

Change Business Address OSS Indonesia starts with one important question: are you changing the company’s correspondence address, correcting the address details of an existing business activity, or moving the activity to a genuinely different location? Those situations are not treated as the same type of data change.

When a business owner searches for change business address OSS Indonesia, the underlying issue usually falls into either business-actor data or the location data of a specific business activity, and choosing the correct category is the first step before filing an amendment.

The current overarching licensing framework is Government Regulation No. 28 of 2025, which has been in force since 5 June 2025.

The detailed amendment rules are set out in Minister of Investment and Hilirisasi/BKPM Regulation No. 5 of 2025.

Change Business Address OSS Indonesia: Which Address Are You Changing?

An OSS profile can contain address information at different levels. The company’s correspondence address belongs to the business actor’s profile, while the address of a hotel, restaurant, warehouse, office, factory or other project belongs to the relevant business activity.

Under Article 225 of Minister of Investment and Hilirisasi/BKPM Regulation No. 5 of 2025, data changes are divided into business-actor data and business-activity data, and responsibility for the changes rests with the business actor.

The same Article 225 requires the business actor to adjust OSS when the underlying data change was made outside the OSS system.

That distinction should be made before opening the amendment menu. A corporate correspondence change does not automatically mean that every project location has moved, and correcting a building name at one licensed site does not automatically change the company’s legal address.

Company Correspondence Address vs Business-Activity Location

The easiest way to separate them is to ask what the address describes.

A correspondence address describes the business entity’s administrative contact location. A business-activity location describes where a particular licensed activity or project is carried out.

For business entities, Article 226 expressly includes the correspondence address among the business-actor data that can be changed.

Project-location changes follow a separate activity-level route, which is discussed in detail below.

The current OSS portal has a dedicated business-entity data-change guide, reflecting the separate treatment of business-actor information.

For activity-level changes, OSS separately maintains a business-activity data-change guide.

For readers who need the broader registration context before making an amendment, Lombok Legal ID’s NIB OSS RBA Registration in Lombok guide explains how company information, business activities and location data fit into the wider OSS registration workflow.

Changing the Company’s Correspondence Address

For the correspondence address itself, Article 226 allows the business actor to make the change directly through OSS.

This is different from company-name, deed, management, shareholder, capital, corporate-purpose and KBLI-list changes, which can involve validation against the government legal-affairs system.

Same Regency/City and Province

Where the correspondence-address change does not alter the company’s regency/city or province, Article 226 provides the direct OSS amendment mechanism for this field.

Before saving the change, compare the new correspondence information with the company’s current administrative records. The objective is not merely to make the OSS screen look correct but to keep the company profile internally consistent.

Moving the Company to Another Regency, City or Province

The rule changes when the address modification also changes the company’s regional domicile.

However, if the business-entity address change alters its regency/city and/or province, Article 226 requires OSS validation against the government system administered for legal affairs.

That is an important warning against treating every corporate address move as a simple free-text edit. Where the underlying corporate records also need adjustment, the legal record and OSS data should be reconciled rather than changed independently.

Correcting the Address of a Business Activity

A project-address correction uses a different rule.

For the address of a specific business activity, Article 229 provides a correction route for a land-based location only when the change concerns location details at the same business-location coordinates.

This route is designed for correcting or updating the description of the existing site, not for treating a genuinely relocated project as though it remained at the same location.

What Can Be Corrected at the Same Coordinates?

The permitted same-coordinate corrections under Article 229 include a floor change within the same building, building name, building number or address, street name, and qualifying administrative-area changes.

Examples include a building being renamed, an official street name changing, the business moving to another floor in the same building, or an administrative-area designation changing without the physical coordinates of the project changing.

The common factor is that the licensed activity remains at the same physical coordinates.

Documents and Five-Day Verification

The Article 229 route is not merely an instant profile edit.

A qualifying project-address correction must be supported by the documents specified in Article 229, including a stamped request signed by the responsible person with the reason for the change and an applicable supporting statement from the competent authority, area manager or building owner.

For this Article 229 route, the OSS Institution must verify the requested address-detail change within a maximum of five days after the application is received.

Where the business already holds Business Licensing, Article 229 states that the existing licensing remains valid until the qualifying address change is fulfilled.

Once the change is approved, OSS updates the relevant Business Licensing data.

What if the Business Actually Moves to a New Location?

A genuine relocation should not automatically be treated as an Article 229 same-coordinate correction.

If the coordinates change because the hotel, warehouse, restaurant, factory, office or other project moves to a different site, review the new location as a licensing issue rather than assuming only the text address needs amendment.

A new project location can interact with spatial requirements, environmental requirements, building-related records and sector licensing. The exact consequence depends on the activity and the new site, so the correct step is to review the live OSS location and licensing workflow for that activity.

This distinction is especially important where the existing project already has location-based approvals. Copying the old address record into a new site can create inconsistencies between the physical project, OSS coordinates and supporting approvals.

Address-Change Checklist for Lombok Businesses

First, identify which record is wrong. Is it the company’s correspondence address or the physical address of one business activity?

Second, compare the OSS record with the underlying company and project documents. For the corporate profile, check the current legal records. For a project, confirm the actual coordinates, building and administrative location.

Third, decide whether the change is an administrative correction or a real relocation. If the project stays at the same coordinates and only its address details change, assess the Article 229 route. If the coordinates change, review the new site’s licensing implications separately.

Fourth, collect the required supporting evidence before filing. Where Article 229 applies, prepare the signed request and the applicable supporting statement identified by the regulation.

Fifth, after OSS processes the change, review the resulting licensing documents and project data rather than checking only the address field. Make sure the relevant activity, location and Business Licensing now match.

If several business activities operate at different locations, repeat this review for each activity. A change to one project should not be assumed to change every other location in the company’s OSS profile.

Common Address-Change Mistakes

The first mistake is changing the company’s correspondence address when the actual problem is the location of a specific project.

The second is using a same-coordinate correction route for a project that has physically moved.

The third is assuming that a change to another regency, city or province can always be completed as a simple corporate correspondence edit without legal-system validation.

The fourth is ignoring coordinates. Article 229’s address-detail mechanism is specifically tied to the same business-location coordinates.

The fifth is updating the visible address but not reviewing the resulting licensing documents and location-dependent approvals.

Conclusion

Changing an address in OSS is not one universal procedure. A company correspondence address belongs to business-actor data, while a project address belongs to the relevant business activity.

For the company profile, the correspondence address can generally be changed directly in OSS, with additional legal-system validation when the regional domicile changes. For a project, Article 229 provides a specific correction route when the physical coordinates remain the same.

If the business actually relocates, treat it as a new-location licensing review rather than merely an address-text correction. That distinction is the key to keeping the company profile, project location and licensing records aligned.

Review the Address Change Before Updating the Licensing File

If you are changing a company or project address in Lombok and need to determine which OSS record and licensing documents are affected, Lombok Legal ID can be consulted to review the amendment pathway.

Where the project also has separate certification requirements, the verified Business Certification service can be reviewed as a separate compliance step after the correct address-change route has been identified.

FAQ – Change Business Address OSS Indonesia

Is a company correspondence address the same as a business location in OSS?

No. The correspondence address belongs to the business entity’s profile, while a business-activity location identifies where a specific licensed activity or project is carried out.

Can I change the company correspondence address directly in OSS?

Article 226 allows the correspondence address to be changed directly through OSS. If the change also alters the regency/city or province, OSS validates the change against the government legal-affairs system.

Can I use Article 229 if my business moves to a new property?

Article 229 specifically covers changes to location details at the same coordinates. A genuine move to different coordinates should be reviewed as a new-location licensing issue instead of being assumed to qualify as a simple address correction.

What project-address details can be corrected under Article 229?

The regulation includes floor changes within the same building, building name, building number or address, street name and qualifying administrative-area changes, provided the activity remains at the same coordinates.

Does an Article 229 address correction require verification?

Yes. The application requires supporting documents, and the OSS Institution has a maximum of five days after receiving the application to verify the qualifying address-detail change.

Does the existing Business License stop being valid while the address correction is processed?

Article 229 provides that where the business already holds Business Licensing, the existing licensing remains valid until the qualifying address change is fulfilled.
